Children of The Street's Life

The existence of children in our society needs a profound interest. Many children among us, but not all of them are having the same chance for studying. They are either the government’s and our responsible, thus we have to create them to be smart generations. Otherwise we would not have generations who are able to go our dream on. In this case, we can see that many children still do what they should not do. Actually, this is not a newly problem for us, but it is happening during many years.

There are two terms in case of describing children who are staying and going around the street. The first is ‘children of the street’, which describes children who spent their entire time or most of their time going around the street without any relationship with their family or relatives. This happens could be caused by internal problems such as broken home, driven out, no parents, and so on. That is why they decide to spent their time around the street.

The second one is ‘children in the street’ or we categorize them as children from the families of the street. They are children who also spend their time going around the street, but one thing which is difference is that they have a family living on the street too. In general, this kind of group could happen because of poverty. In addition, those two groups have the same aim which is asking for money in order to be able to survive.

I discern this as a urban phenomenon because this could be seen generally on the highway and public transportation. Thus, it is miserable when we see children going around the street for asking money while the others are studying. Childhood is a period for studying and playing. Their childhood should not be spent in the street; asking money, being singing beggar, and so on. They need an attention from us, because naturally their existence want to be admitted.

Children are precious generations, so that they have to get an education as well as the others. In this case, the government should solve how to decrease the number of either children of the street and children in the street. Basically, their environment do not care enough to them because they think that the children going around the street are not their responsible. On the contrary only their parents must be responsible for them.

Now, the problem is not suspecting someone who cause them being both children of the street and children in the street. At that very early stage, the problem comes from many aspects so that we could not generalize and address it to their parents. In fact, we find that there are some cases which could make them living around the street. It cannot be denied that people of Indonesia tend to be hard done by the government, especially for people who are from poor or low class. Thus, this kind of phenomenon should not fully addressed to the parents.
What we should do is putting our heads together how to solve it, or at least decrease it. In this case, there are some solutions; Personal Approach, because people generally assume them as naughty children and they do not need to come into lime light. In Addition, we need to give them more attention and self confidence so that they will not do bad tings.This personal approach also includes their education, jobs opportunity (skills), finances, and health.

From this, I hope that the government should give more attention to people from low class generally and their children especially in case of their rights, finances, education, and health, so that children of Indonesia will be greater generations than before.
